Description: Workshop will be a guided conversation in supporting survivors of color and is aimed to address the unique challenges faced by survivors of color in the context of trauma and violence.  This workshop is a space to gather and tackle the pressing issue of violence against people of color and engage with holistic systems change.

Start by Believing: Understanding the Reality of Sexual Violence in Intimate Partner Violence Dynamics Recording

Description: Workshop addresses how sexual violence is often overlooked by domestic violence advocates addressing Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).  Research shows that sexual violence and coercion are indicators of lethality.

Part journey towards healing. Decorated Nashville cop Mark Wynn wrestles with his own

violent childhood while working to reform decades of domestic violence mishandling, cover-ups, and abuse from deep within law enforcement.

Presenter:  Mark Wynn is a childhood survivor who has devoted his life to ending violence by working as a police officer, detective, educator, program supervisor, consultant and advisor.

Gender-based Violence Recording

Description: Workshop covers media literacy as an essential skill in the 21st Century. Media literacy is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media. The cultural norms that reinforce and encourage harmful behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of are reinforced through various media messaging, adversely impacts to our relationships, community and society.

Description: Workshop demonstrates how to work with community partners to join the journey in recognizing gaps and barriers that keep all those impacted by Domestic Violence from accessing necessary resources for sustainable safety.

 The Human and Animal Bond Recording

Description: Workshop addresses why and how the human-animal bond holds immense health benefits, particularly for survivors of trauma. In many cases, survivors view their pets as their sole source of love and security, often delaying leaving an abusive situation to protect their animals.

Cyberstalking: The Hunter & The Hunted Recording

Description: Workshop examines how abusers (the hunter) repeatedly use digital technology (cyberstalking) to contact and harass someone else (the hunted), causing them to fear for their safety. Hunters use technology, including photos, videos, social media, and apps, as a means to engage in harassing, unsolicited, or non-consensual relationships.
